How do you do it tents, pop-ups, or hard trailers? Do you camp for a certain reason, hunting, fishing, or just to be out there?

I enjoy being out in the solitude of nature and God's magnificient creation. I'm prepared to go camping anytime. However, I have a problem getting my mind and body on the same page!
Don't do any trail camping anymore. When I did trail camp I usually used a poncho as my tent.
Out here in the desert we can usually camp year-round, but have to be aware of flash-flooding which occur's during certain periods of the year.
My base camp is my SUV. I can sleep in it, but prefer to pitch a tent and just recently started using an air-mattress. I just woke up one morning and said, no more sleeping on rocks!
I don't spend a lot of money on certain camping items like tents. Why, because the weather conditions don't dictate that I need to.
I use an inexpensive Wenzel pole tent, which assembles in about 5 minutes. I have learned one thing about tents; If you require a one person tent, then get a two person tent. You can always use the additional space for your own confort and you'll have some storage area. If you need a two person tent, then go for a three person tent for the same reasons. Warning... if you get a two person tent and sleep two people in it. Well... when morning comes, you'll be lucky if anyone can still call you a friend!

I think the only way I would camp in the winter would be if the car broke down in the middle of a blizzard or something to that sort. Winter camping just doesn't appeal to me.
