Wondering if anyone owns a .357 lever action and how you like it? Also what would be the biggest game that you could reasonably shoot with it and at what yardage?

hardcase,
The closest I've got is a contender carbine in .357 maximum. I have had the pleasure of shooting a Henry lever action .45 LC. That was a neat experience. The .45 didn't have a ton of range, but you should be able to get the .357 to better velocity than that was capable of (also ammo was cowboy loads, so not exactly hunting material). With a 180 grain bullet, you should be able to take deer as far as it can accurately shoot. I wouldn't hesitate to take on a black bear with something like that either. I'd keep shots a bit closer on them too, but 100 yards is very reasonable. I've taken deer out to 180 yards with my maximum with no problems.
