Oh sorry, he was 27 lbs, had a 9 inch beard, and had 3/4" spurs.
It was a little different story. I got to the woods at daylight, just a little late. They were hammering everywhere, but in my area. There were several shots within hearing, but I did not see anything! I was disappointed since I have been seeing a lot of birds in the last couple of weeks.
This afternoon I decided to try something a little different, my deer stand was still up at a new food plot I planted this spring. I have a half blind I can setup around the stand so I got setup and decided to relax. About three I called with a contented yelp very softly, I did that a couple of times in 30 minutes. I was not expecting anything until later, when out he walked, just out of gun range. He started toward me, then walked behind a cedar! He must have stayed there for five minutes, I thought he had left. Then a hen appeared, and walked all around the cedar. I thought I would play with her a little I did a couple of aggressive yelps, and he pops out from behind the cedar! Then he met my old 1100, and it was a short relationship!
