This is a simple, yet profound website that argues for the existence of God. By profound, I mean that you need to honestly think through the questions you are asked. If you are one that either questions or denies the existence of God, then I encourage you to visit this site and honestly reflect on each question that you are asked. When answering each question, you need to think through the consequences of your answer. What I mean by that is, is your worldview about reality (i.e. what we know to be true, how we know what we know, etc...) consistent, or is your worldview arbitrarily constructed? Be sure to read through each question carefully. Do not skim over the question assuming you already know what it is asking. www.proofthatgodexists.org/

I most certainly believe God exists. Paul speaks about reasoning and being able to look at nature and know there is a God. There are two kinds of revelation that shows the existence of God. General revelation (nature) and divine revelation (Bible). For those that don't accept the existence of God it is hard to convince them that God exist simply because the Bible says so. Let me say this now though, I believe there is power in the word and God draws us to him, so we should never neglect sharing the Bible as proof of His existence but we should also lend ourselves to the teaches of Paul and use General revelation to also prove the existence of God. There are several arguments that can be used to defend the existence of God (my favorite is the moral argument) but for now I will use the Kalam Cosmological argument.
It simple breaks down like this: 1. What ever begins to exist has a cause to becoming into existence. 2. The Universe began to exist. 3. Therefore, the universe has a cause to coming into existence.
Now the question that always is debated by atheist is principle number two, did the universe really have a beginning or has it always been here? That is where we look for certain scientific data. We know for a fact that the universe is expanding. We know that by the arrangement of the stars and for studying them for years. They are growing further apart. Its like putting raisins on a cake in the oven. When you first placed them there, they were only one inch apart but after cooking (energy) the cake (it expands, raises) the raisins become further apart, perhaps they end up at two inches apart. Scientist have noticed the same thing with the universe. So one can conclude that the universe also had a beginning. Then there is also the law of thermodynamics developed by Kelvin. It basically says that anything that uses energy (like a car with gas) will eventually run out of that energy (I think my car runs out of energy to soon haha). Stating that there is only a limited amount of energy something can store. Kelvin concluded that if the universe really had been running an infinite time ago then we should be near of the energy running out if it hasn't already. Even the most simply person can concluded that the lights are still on. All this shows that there must have been a beginning of the energy source. Which leads us to the next question, what caused the existence of the universe? What gave it energy to work? What was there before the universe?
First off, I do not agree with the atheist community that say something can come out of nothing. So common sense tells us that there must have been something there before the universe came into form. Now does this absolutely prove that there is a God that created everything? No it doesn't, but God does provide the best answer for the beginning. For as much as scientist have attempted to understand the cause of the universe coming into existence there is one known fact; they (scientist) don't know! My astronomy professor once told us that the best and most logical conclusion one can have for the beginning of the universe is that God created it. For as much as they have research, all they can find is that there was nothing there. Unless there was a transcend being (God).
Now this also an area of contention because people then ask "what created God"? The error there can be found in the question. We assume that God had a beginning, we view God as a finite being. The truth is God would have to be infinite in all His characteristics in order to really be a God. (All powerful, All knowing, all moral (just), all present) Remember the law of thermodynamics, it doesn't apply to God. The law only describes finite material while God would have to be infinite (having infinite amount of energy). So to answer the question, "who/what created God?", is nothing. God has always existed in time and space, anything less than that would not be a God. So it is key to define what God is in this argument.
Now as mention before, this argument does not completely prove the existence of God, it still takes faith. But what what it does do is this: 1.) Gives a logical reason to believe in a God, 2.) Rejects naturalism which is a huge accomplishment for the faith. What is naturalism? The system of thought holding that all phenomena can be explained in terms of natural causes and laws. The Kalam argues that the beginning of the universe cannot be explain by natural causes but by supernatural cause. If we so succeed in this reasoning then evolution then seems even more unreasonable.
When adding this argument to other arguments, such as the design theory or moral argument, it makes a real compelling case for the existence of God. I plan on posting the other arguments later. Tell me what you think about this one for now.
God Bless
