This is where we will start our group. We can meet each other here first.
I'm Bob Boyd I have been a Christian ever since I was a boy (I'm 56). I got away from the Lord for years, even though he took care of me many times! I was married at 18 it only lasted a few years I like to party and my first wife and I drifted apart. I had a tough time after the divorce, I dated off and on for several years. Then I met Debbie we hit it off she had a son Andy he and I hit it too. We were married and started our life together, but we were still not in Church. We had what we thought was a good life until December 26th 1999. Andy was taken in an car crash just a mile from our house! I thought of Andy as my son it hit me hard, and hit Debbie even harder he was her only child. We tried everything to cope with the loss nothing helped. We were drifting apart we got to the bottom and asked God to help things slowly started to get better.
My Dad was a farmer and trapped too. One of my first memory was Dad buying our first console TV with fur money. I started running my own line at 10 it was a coon, muskrat and mink line! I've been trapping off and on since! I'm retired from my job with State Government and I'm trapping more and more. I trap three counties here in Kentucky.
I have talked to several trappers who are interested in starting a Christian trappers group.
Tell us a little about you!

My name is Dale Roberts Jr. I was saved July 16th 1990 on the way homew from my girlfriend's(soon to be wife) house at 1:30 in the morning. I married my Wife on August 4th 1990 and we have been at each others throats ever since. haha. Just kidding about the throats. God blessed us with three fine sons. Joshua is fifteen and the eldest. Ryan is 14 and my shadow and "Little Ethan" went home to heaven on July 26th 2002. He was 22 months old and died in a drowning accident here at home. He would have been 11 this November 5th. I am so lucky to have had My Savior with me through all the years since I was saved. My wife still has never known Christ as her savior and I haven't stopped praying that she will. We have been through many trials and troubles in our 20+ years and we are still going strong. I am 44 years old and retired from coal mining after 23 years. My health forced me out and I am trying to find a new line of work that will agree with my limitations. I have worked a full time job since I was 16 years old and I can't get used to being at home so much not able to do the things I would like.. I started in my Dads mines during summer breaks from school when I was 13. Illegally of course but during the summer I would have to work instead of having fun. I look back now and appreciate the hard work but wish I hadn't breathed so much dust. I am a little league football coach and I coach with a Christian philosophy. I have witnessed many miracles and answered prayers over the years. I trapped when I was a kid with my Grandfather and I just picked up again three years ago when my son Ryan, found some of my old traps. I am trying to pass on what I know and remember and help him learn new things. I am extremely old fashioned and I believe in the old ways. I do not like very many modern things even though I use them. I have thought since I was very young that I was born in the wrong century. My Grandmother told me this many times through her life. I am not a denominational Christian and I have attended many different Churches through the years. I currently attend a Baptist Church. I love Old Regular Baptist hymns and shape note music. Thanks so much to Hardcase for making this forum possible. I frequent Trapperman and a few other trapping forums and It seems like it doesn't take long for a Christian thread to get bashed or turn ugly. I am sure this will be a nice change. I look forward to hearing the wonderful stories of others and to fellowship with other like minded Christians. God Bless Dale

Welcome Dale! Great to have you. I have closed this site to prevent it from happening again if I can. We have a lot of work to do. It's going to be hard to get the word out. If you know more trappers who are Christian or looking for answers send them here.
God Bless

I will do all I can to help. I don't get on the computer very much but when I do I am in a trapping website somewhere. Mind if I mention the board over on the West Virginia Trappers association website? There may be a few over there that would like to join. There are a lot of good people on that board as well.

My name is Stacy White. I received the Lord Jesus Christ on October 29th, 1991 in large part due the witness of a young lady named Shirley (now my wife of 19 years). I should have gotten saved when I was about 12 or so when the Holy Spirit first spoke to me about my lost condition. Praise the Lord for his patience and mercy.
Shirley and I have been blessed with 6 children so far: Canaan (16), Calah (14), Hannah (14), Jeremiah (9), Jude (5), and Bethany (2). Life is never dull around our house.
We live in Whitly County Kentucky near Cumberland Falls.
I pastor Faith Independent Baptist Church, 3935 Bee Creek Road, Corbin, Kentucky.
I currently serve as president of United Trappers of Kentucky. I work for the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service as an Ag. and Natural Resource Agent in Bell County.
