I posted this question on another forum, and I really didn't get an answer.
Where in the bible dose it say that it is a sin to get cremated. I have been pondering this question, because I want to get cremated and taking to the mountains, and searched the Word for the answer, to no avail. So I am asking for help from those who know scripture better than I.

I am no Bible scholar by any means but I know of no verse that says you can't be cremated. I believe if you accept Jesus as your savior you are saved, your soul goes to Heaven, not your earthly body. I could be wrong, but this is what I believe.

Thanks for the input.
Hardcase, I actually have read that article already. And it did give me some verses to read. And I cannot see a definitive answer. Amos was the closest, but I am unsure if he was saying God punished there transgressions because who they were, or because they cremated the their dead. I feel that it was because who they were.......... I am just trying to do right by God, but I like getting my answers from the Good Book, not by man. I am not saying that I do not want input, just that it's backed by the Bible. I hope that I am not offending anyone, or coming off the wrong way, sorry if I am.

No problem at all! You are going to the right place for your answers, the WORD!

Well, this is just my 2 cents, but as with everything INTENT is the biggest issue.
If you consider the tower of Babel. It is a well-known fact that the people would never have reached heaven. BUT their intent was to raise themselves to heaven, and as such they were given a speech affliction that completely foiled their efforts.
Had they built the tower as a monument to God, they would probably have been spared their troubles.
If you have pure intent, and it is not specifically forbidden, then you should be OK.
Again, this is my belief.

appalachain13 I think you have raised a good question here and I myself have never really thought about it. I will study this at length and look forward to reading more thoughts.

There is no mention in the Bible about proper burial, as Christ insisted he was not worried about this body. In fact the resurection is not for this body, but a new body, this body is sin laden, the reserection is instilling your soul into a brand new sinnless immortal body. Jesus insisted let the dead bury the dead. You can do with your remains any way you wish. You will have trouble finding scriptures on burial outside of Jewish custom difficult because the Bible only deals with what God deems important, and that is how you live your life, and come to Salvation.
