The 8th of Nov. was a pretty good day around here. The early season slow time has really changed and a bunch of bucks have been moving. Yesterday morning, one of my brothers shot a decent 11 point, and last night I got an 8 point. Both were taken at about 30 yards, although the tracking jobs were a night and day difference. My brothers buck dropped within 40 yards - in sight. My buck went about 250 yards with a double lung shot. Steady blood trail, but a little light. I waited for about 2 hours before trailing him, and we found him in about 45 minutes or so. He was already stiff, having been expired very shortly after I shot him. Just had a little more adrenaline running that the other one I'm guessing. I promise I'll get some pics posted here as soon as possible.
Good luck to the rest of you!

Bronc,
Will let you know when I'll be in the area, and give you some time to plan ahead. I may miss season up there, but I'm hopeful that within the next month or so, I'll be up in the area. gd

Okay, first pic is my brother's deer. Very nice buck, good mass, tines, beams, etc. My buck was a bit younger, but has an exceptional brow tine on the right side, and a really good 2 on the left.

Yeah, they finally dropped the permanent metal tags. Unlike MI they don't print a laminated tag, just green paper... It'll be interesting to see how long these hold up. I may have to laminate this one just so it stays intact.
