The suggestion has been made to have a "Classified Forum" to buy, sell, and swap. Please give your opinion.

It would be nice to be able to purchase items from people that we know and trust.

No problem here except.......
there should be NO firearm sales through the site, its a very large liability that could cause us to lose the site.

I would like to know a little more as to why you think that way BB2. How is a section of classifieds gonna make the site liable for anything. There are handfulls of other forums and sites that have classifieds associated with them and they are full of firearms sales. I'm not saying it will make it or break it, but lets face it when it comes to outdoors men (ie. hunters & trappers), like alot of us on here are, firearms seems to be a pretty common topic. Look at how many threads on our little forum here talk about firearms (rifles, reloading, bullets, blackpowder, ect.) I am not trying to pet the cat backward here but seriously think about what we are talking about.

Another site I frequently visit had a lawyer look at the firearm issue and it was from that letter(opinion) that I base my thoughts. Unless you personally know any potential buyer, It could be a child embelishing the age requirment to get access to guns. If Hardcase goes with the section I will abide by his decision.

I can see your point as to someone hiding their identity on the web but federal firearms regulation prohibit you from shipping a firearm directly to an individual. So if you play by the rules this shouldn't be a worry. I guess I just don't see a major problem here as long as all the laws and regulations are upheld and that is covered in rule #9.

About 2 months ago I purchased a 9mm handgun from an individual I found on the classifieds over at AR15.com. Anytime a firearm is shipped, it must be received by an FFL in order for it to be transferred to the individual...this requires a background check and lots of paperwork. If there are any restrictions, they should just be that all firearms sales are done legally.

All for it.
A feedback section should definitely be available.
Any person caught abusing the forum should be banned from the entire website.

Go for it. Like Schrader said, legal sales have to go thru a FFL dealer. Don't think we have anyone here wanting to do something that is against the law.

How about also adding bartering to that forum? Lots of people have things that have a retlivence to hunting and traping that would trade for some new toy rather than sell it! Here in Florida things Guns ar sold throu the news paper want adds all the time. With no goverment invention. I'm not saying that is right or wrong, but people trade things all the time. It is the most and oldest way of geting stuff.... So why not? I belive all here in this site are good law abideing people, who love our country and our sport.... MJEdens

I feel that it would be a great thing. As for firearms sales, that is up to you all. Having been a dealer, and still work under a mfg lic for class 3 items, sales should be no problem, shipping is where it can be. No need to go into it here but done the proper way.
