This should get some response. What make and type of fishing line do you use the most for the type of fishing you do. Me I'm a spinnerbait man so I load up my reels with Berkley 14 lb. test XL unless I'm fishing near rocky cover, piers or trees then it's time to switch to 20 lb. test XT. By the way what is your favorite brand of baitcasting reels. I used Quantum for years, still do but the wife gave me a Shimano Calais a year ago last Christmas and it's so smooth it's now my new favorite. It's the first one I pick up and the last one I put down.

I do like the Berkley Brand line. I usually use a lighter weight though. I have a ultralight with a Shakespeare real that has 3 or 4 lb. test on it. I use this rig a lot on the small farm pond for bass, crappie, blue gil, perch, and for trout when we go to Missouri. It really makes those small fish fun to catch. I also got a couple med wt. rods with the full ball bearing Rhino reals on them with 8 -12 lb. test line for the bigger bass and cat fish. I own a fly rod but the only thing I catch with it is myself. Haven't quite got the hang of it yet. Maybe this year I will learn how to use it better.

Being a fishing guide I use braided and monofilament, it just depends on the situation as what I use. My all time favorite line is Berkley XL.

I started using Suffix line a couple of years ago, and so far I have really liked it.
