Which animal would you consider as being the ultimate predator. How about the big game cats; lions, tigers, lepords, etc. They sure have all the tools to work with. Size, speed, claws, jaws.
I would think the dog family from wolves, coyotes and hyena may be smarter but they would lack many of the qualities the big cats possess.
How about some of the North American and Alaskan Bear. There not something you would want to mess with.

Good question! Man, that's a tough one... The big cats are tough to argue with for their combination of power, speed, agility, stealth, and lethality. The brown bears are an awesome combination of speed (for their size it's amazing), power, brute force, and the Bleep factor is second to none. Now where specifics are concerned, leopards are pretty nasty (for each second they are on you, at least 100 stitches worth of damage ) although you're more likely to survive a leopard attack than a lion attack. The tigers are the biggest cats, and pretty bad things, because you'll probably never know what hit you. But I think I'm gonna vote for the brown bears - largest carnivores on the planet, with a bad attitude to go along with it. JMHO gd

They can be just downright mean and they can be good sized also. Ranging in weight from 400 pounds on up to 1,800 pounds. Wow... did I really mean 1,800 pounds!!!
