I am going to try my hand at making my own box calls. Got some excellent furniture grade lumber, cedar, walnut, oak, and maple. to work with. I have 2 different instructions designs to work from - single & double sided, and I would like to know the Pros & Cons of both? What are their good points and bad? Which do you prefer and why?

Bob,
I love box calls - I'm decent with a diaphram, but still love the old "boat paddles". I've gotta go with a single sided call, simply because I have a double that never gets used on one side... It's supposedly a mature hen, and a young 'un. Can only get satisfactory sounds from one side. Although if you make a 2-sided call, you may only end up with one good side... Hmm.. on second thought, better go with two. LOL!
