There was 4 deer in the pasture with the cattle while I was out feeding 3 of them were bucks for sure and all 3 still had their horns, 1 had lost one side but the other 2 were still intact. Late in the year for any to have horns isn't it?

Bronc,
Generally speaking, it is very late in the season for deer to still have their antlers. One time I saw a buck with hard antlers in April - but I've also seen deer that had shed both sides before New Years... I think it probably depends on the particular animal, nutrition, weather, etc. Never got that far into the science part of things... It would be interesting to find out.
If anyone actually knows this, please share the info!
