Smacked this one down at 11:30 yesterday morning (opener) on public land. Good bird for game management. 20lbs - 11" beard - 1" spurs This is a cell phone picture. I took some much better pictures in front of a GMA sign with my digital but computer says the card is damaged. Hope I didn't lose them. Story: Went to some private land, pastures, early for the roost gobbling. Nothing doing. Left there ran by the house since it's only 4 miles away, made a nature call here so I wouldn't have to use my socks, and took off again. Went to some game land and started walking the gravel road and calling every now and then. Got ΒΌ mile from the truck, did a hard cutt on the diaphragm and this boy gobbled down in a hardwood bottom. He was about 200 yd away, so I went in the woods about 70 yds, set-up and waited for about 5 min. Yelped a few times, nothing, waited another few minutes, another hard cutt.....**GOooooobbblle**. Waited again, soft yelp, nothing. Then I heard it...***THUMP...Bzzzzz***. Saw the white head coming. He drummed and strutted to 20 yds and the good Lord called him home...with the assistance of a few # 6 shot.

Heck of a bird! Congrats on a great hunt! After the experience I've had this year, it's good to know some of you are getting lucky and finding birds... LOL!
