Our shotgun season ended on the 30th of nov. I planned for a couple day's to leave work, an hour to one and a half hours early. I left at 3:30 to at least get out for the last hour of light. Fish had to run home to get all his camo as it was drying from the previous day's hunt in the drizzle. We made the walk (100 yards from the house) to the stands, which are actually only 35 to 40 yards apart. I am sure you wonder Why they are so close. Well we only have possibly70 yards actually worthy of hunting with very heavy thickets and many trails comming from each direction. Just before legal shooting time expired, I could hear the teltale sounds of footsteps comming from Sean's direction. I turned, located the sound and began a very slow reach for the mic on my 2 way radio. I had just found the button to ask if he was going to shoot or was he letting it come to me when, BOOM.
The Doe dropped in her tracks, never kicked a lick.
It was a good ending for our season, as sean had watched as I took the 4 point on the opener of archery season, and now I have watched him do the same on the ending of the firearm season.
We still have the B/P season and the late archery , but My season is probably the most sucessful ever, already, just because I have watched my son become a good sucessful hunter
