While out feeding the animals at work this morning, I disturbed a bunch of deer. I counted 8 as they ran off a bit. Later in the day I was in the same area and they were bedded only 60 yards away. As I got closer to them I noticed that 1 was a large buck, counted 5 points on the one side that I could see. Well they ran off again and when they hit the hayfield the buck began trying to heard 1 large doe in paticular away from the rest. I watched him chasing for probably 15 minutes. While all this was happening I then saw 2 more bucks that I could see their racks from probably 500 yards. Quite interesting to watch and painful too because our B/P season doesn't start until friday.
Maybe Next time!

Sounds like the secondary rut is cycling in your neck of the woods. I've seen bucks chasing as late as Christmas, but not regularly. Good luck getting one of those big ones!
