I was saved when I was six, but then later on I pulled away. I went through years without being close to God, but always felt he was there. It was about 8 years ago I truely found him again!

I was saved around 7 or 8. When a person is that young, time doesn't matter to them, and at the time I thought 21 was ancient. So although accepting Jesus as my Saviour was the most important thing that ever happened to me, I don't know the actual date or even my actual age.

Just me talking,,,,,,I don't think a child as young as 6 or 8 or even 12. Fully understands what being saved is or accepting Christ as their savior truly means . Just don't believe it . A person has to achieve a certain level of maturity to make that step. Sorry folks,,,,didn't fool me none. No way you understood what you were doing at that age. All you were doing was trying to please someone in your life at that time.

In a lot of cases you may be right, but there are cases where a young person does really know what they are doing. There are ways you can talk to them to really see. We make the process for a child take a lot longer. This is an important step for anyone, and even more so for a young person.

I have to agree with Hardcase on this one. Both of my sons were saved at a young age, and I was allowed to be there when Lucas was saved, and I was blessed to lead Anthony to the Lord. On both, we were very careful to present the Gospel in a way that they could understand, then we asked them questions to make sure they understood.
When a child is getting ready to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour, they will begin to ask questions, then almost every time they will want to be baptized. Ask them why they want to be baptized and if they say anything other than to obey the Lord, then they are not quite ready, but are getting close.
