This was one of those times when it is better to be lucky than good. We were having 50mph winds and a thunder storm. I had decided to try an ambush since calling was out of the question. The birds I was trying to sneak on busted me. I walked up the fence row and saw a bunch of hens shoot through the fence in the corner of the field. I eased closer and saw a red head stick up. I did my best couger crouch and eased through the fence. It was then I realised this was a BIG bird. Around here it is the equal of killing a 170" whitetail. I found a hole to give me a shooting lane and shot about 2 seconds after he busted me. By far my best turkey ever. I used my 835 with 31/2 2oz #6 Winchesters. The shot was 50 yards. He rolled at the shot. I was goig to take either the Knight or the Encore muzzle loading turkey guns but it rained so elected to use the 835. reflex264
