He weighed in at 19 Lbs, 8" beard, 1/2" spurs Well, I had to work for this one! It rained all morning, and quit around noon. I was busy, but got to the woods around 4:30 PM. On my way in I spooked a hen and something else, but could not see if it was a hen or tom. I walked on up to the clearing where I see them most afternoons. I settled in and would hit the call about twice an hour. Around six I hit the call and he answered only one gobble so I waited then called again softly he did not answer. I thought he had left then I saw him strutting through some brushes. He started to come then he almost turned away from me I yelp softly a couple of times he was heading away. Then for some reason he turned around and slowly came my way gobbling and strutting now and then. He finally got in range and I cutt and he stretched his neck and that was it. It was pretty much text book. Debbie has not gotten to hunt much so now we are going to try to get her one!
