I have people ask me all the time, "How can you be a hunter and a christian?" I most times tell them that the Bible does not say anything against hunting, but it tells us that the animals are here for us, and it tells us what animals are clean and unclean to eat. It also tells us, in Genisis, that animals are given to us as food, just as God gave us the plants to eat, he gives us the animals.
What are your thoughts?

I always figured God made them tasty for a reason.

yea I agree,, I heard once that if God didn't mean for us to eat the animals, then he shouldn't have made them with meat ;D
I have had many discussions about this, due to me being a hunter, and yes, I think we can indeed be hunters and Christians!

Great question Bob. You should hear Byron Tabor's message. (see my post about him in the bowhunter forum). He teaches that it is very Biblical to hunt. God gave us dominion over the animals. He even told Paul (or was it Peter?) to "rise, kill, and eat". You stated it well above ... God gave us the animals to eat ... after the fall of course. Byron uses that whole discussion to lead into a plan of salvation in his hunting seminars. If you ever get a chance to hear him, be sure to go. As the billboard missmod88 shared with me once stated .... "There is a place for all of God's creatures ... right beside the mashed potatoes".
