WOW, I don't know if I even want to start in on this one. So does that mean that everything that was started in the old testiment is passed away?? like the creation of the earth or man or animals?? I would suggest looking up the word "tithe" in the original language and see what it means. Hardcase you brought this up, maybe you would like to share what your belief is. Josh

What josha said...I tithe because I love God, and I was commanded to give. I can understand people being reluctant to give. There are a lot of preachers out there with a lot of nice stuff. That said, I didnt pay for any of it, but I know that our local church has a lot of stuff we want to accomplish-and unfortunately, it takes $$$$.

In America we are fed a "ME" mentality. Its all about me. By my interpretation of the Bible, its pretty much the total opposite of that. Its about God, and you, and the other guy-not about me. Remember John 3:16?-giving. John 15:13 says-"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Again-speaking of giving. Are we supposed to tithe? Me thinks so.

I won't get all scriptural here but I'll tell you from personal experience that I have been at the bottom of the barrel where a tenth of my income for two years was a five dollar bill. That fiver went to the church faithfully and I was never cold, hungry, naked, or without anything I needed. During that time the Lord arranged lots of government provided training for me where I lived in hotels, ate on government per diem and was even provided with government transportation. Following that period I was blessed with prosperity where my tithes became as much as fifteen thousand dollars a year up to my retirement fourteen years ago. I'll also add that I know for certain that if you pay your tithes as given by the Lord, put away ten percent of your income for yourself to be used later, you'll never want for anything. Fact!
