Have you ever been called by God to enter into some type of ministry? There are all kinds. Preaching, evangelist, music, youth, witnessing to others, missionary, standing up for the truth of God, when no one else will. Did you refuse it like Jonah.
Jonah Chapter 1 verses 1 thru 3. Verse 1. Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amitai, saying, Verse 2. Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. Verse 3. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
How many of you have refused God at one time or another, only to be corrected by Him, and after being corrected, doing what He needed you for? I have.

Probably more times than I like to think about. Funny though how God has a way of bringing you back around to that crossroads later on though.
Our Pastor says when it comes to the things of God, you are never standing still, you are either going forward ot backward.

I was called to be a minister when I was about 17 years old. But being a dumb Arkansas hillbilly, I decided I would run. And man did I ever run. After about 30 years of running, the Lord decided I had had enough rope. So He brought me to my knees by allowing my marriage to fail. After I repented, and came back to Him, He allowed me to repair the damage that had been done to my marriage, then He started convicting me again. To make a long story short, I surrendered to the ministry 4-11-04, after about 30 years of running from His calling.
