"Can you lose salvation when God knows what you will do?"
I do believe that wording contains two possible questions:
1. Is salvation a conditional gift?
2. Does pre-determination vs free will come into play during such an argument?
So here we are to start a discussion in regards to the above questions. Let's play nice and keep it structured.

In my opinion, you can not. I don't believe my Savior would give me something and take it back. Anyone who has ever experienced the joy of salvation I believe would agree that it is something to happen only once. There are folks all over whome may claim to be saved but you can't tell it by thier attendance or thier labor for the gospel. I have a great friend whome I've known all my life, he refuses to attend sunday school or wed. night or sun. night, he will come to most buissness mtg's. My point is if you were saved by the same God that I was, and you can see the same blessings that we all have, you should be compellled to serve your God and Savior, you should have a zeal to try and do what you can to repay (so to speak) what was done for you. If you really love Jesus and you really said "I surrender to you Lord and I'm sorry for my sins and want to serve you and thank you for DIEING in my place", you get the picture. Too many folks think that salvation is a way out of hell and you will never have to answer for anything again. JMO-If you are saved the first time, not only will you NOT have to do it again, you will want to do the work He set before everyone whome He saves. JMO

No you can not ever loose it. That is not my words, that is the written word. Now, one thing, your rewards will not be what they could have been, but no, you can not loose it. I know of some preachers that have brought this up, and made some believe it. The deal is if you are serious, and saved, your actions will show that you are. If you do not change, then, my question is, were you really serious, and have repented?

OH, please forgive me, I did not take the time to read the answer above mine. I had had this talk a couple days ago, and was fast to jump on it, but I think you can tell, I feel like watersheadman25 does.

IF you live according to the Word, then no.
However, I do believe that you can make the choice to leave grace behind.
In Galatians 5:19-21 it states:
"Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."
There are no qualifiers attached to this statement. Which means, that we are all bound by this code.
Jesus said "If you love me, keep my commandments."
You will fail, and fall short. But, if you intentionally and willfully return to sin, you can give up your salvation.

I am not a Bible scholar, but I believe salvation cannot be lost. Like Catman50 said though, I do believe that you can lose Heavenly rewards by continuing to sin, and I also believe you can be punished here on earth, just as the Israelites were many times throughout the Bible when they turned away from God.

1. Salvation is not a conditional gift. My reasoning first is scriptural. The entire book of Hebrews addresses this topic. It states who Christ is and what His work was. Also it speaks about people who continually to sin and do not repent really aren't Christians. Does not mean we will not slip up but if we truly have Chris's salvation then one will have convictions about their sins. Second is theology. God is all loving, all powerful, all knowledgeable, and all presence. Therefore His grace is all forgiving. If we could lose our salvation then logic would presuppose that we could not ever keep it and therefore we would all be condemned to Hell. Because one sin is enough to separate us from God, but Christ mediates for us that is His children/believers.
2. No pre-determination does not come into play in such an argument. The reason why is, if one is pre-determined then one can not lose something that is fated to them. God either choose you to be saved or not. Freewill also may become a little closer into play but like mention earlier, sound biblical theology does not allow one to believe that one can lose your salvation. I would like to mention that I do not believe sound biblical doctrine is pre-determination (calvinism). To be simple if one is truly saved, they cannot not lose their salvation. His grace is sufficient.

My personal belief is if you come to Christ in a broken contrite heart, fully aware of your sin and your deserving punishment and need of a Saviour, you truly are saved and no man can pluck you out, and once saved you are inhabited by the Holy Spirit and become a New Creature, but we are in a world surrounded by many with false salvation, swept up in a moment at some church event, recited a prayer and think that was it. But scripture plainly states that only those who come to the true understanding of thier sin and Need of a Saviour will be saved. If you think your a good person and just recite some majical incantation some one gives you, that wont cut it, you must see yourself as God sees you, filthy, rotten to the core sinner, God does not differintiate sin, every sin is the same, if guilty of the least, your guilty of the worst. When one sees this, and fully understands, and cries out to Jesus with the broken spirit, broken heart, they will be saved, and once saved your always saved Josh

I brought this subject up at church this morning, the answer from the pastors is... No... Either you accept Jesus in your heart, or you don't if you say you accept Jesus and it isn't really in your heart then you haven't really gained salvation of our Lord.. I hope I am making sense...
