With all the talk of a "Big Cat" here. I started thinking about seeing strange animals or other things in the woods. What have you seen that was strange or you could not explain.
A few years back I was trapping an area, and found some digging that seemed as if it might have been a bear. I never found any good tracks.
What have you all seen?

Tracks. Big tracks in the mud following my footprints on the trapline one year. Not human.

I almost hate to tell this but I will submit to a polygraph any time on this matter. When we lived in Severn Maryland my mother and I and two dogs were walking in the woods behind our house. We were about a mile from the nearest house when out of nowhere there was a man standing in front of us. It caught the dogs off gaurd as it did us. He was an elderly gentleman wearing a red and black flannel shirt and grey khaki pants. He faced us then turned to walk away. The dogs tore off after him. He was about 75' in front of us. About the time the dogs reached him he just vanished. I am serious as a heart attack. The dogs just ran through what would have been him and even they freaked out. They turned in every direction but he was gone. We looked around for a few minutes to see if he fell in a hole or something then we tore off to the house. That was in 1973 and it still seems like yesterday. reflex264

I found a snake skin years ago that was at least 2 1/2 times my body length. I'm 6 3". And I live in Iowa. I never thought there would be a snake over 4 ft. in the wild here.

I heard this before I saw it.
I was sitting in a treestand bowhunting and kept hearing something walking very slowly up the hill toward me. It seemed like it would get almost up to where I could see it and then, I thought, would run back down the hill. Over a period of time this happened several times and was driving me crazy. I couldn't figure out what it was and I just had to see. I climbed down from my stand and slipped over to where I could see the spot this was taking place. When I saw what it was I just sat down and laughed my backside off. It was a terripin( land turtle or box turle as some call it) and it was crawling up the hill and when it got so far the hill was so steep it would fall over backwards and roll down the hill. I started to go pick him up and place him on top but didn't figure he would accomplish his goal if I did that.

Rob a few years back I was on the way home, I lived close to the Kentucky River. There was a Cow Sucker (mlk snake) stretched across a two lane road! I stopped and waited for him to get accross I wish that I had a camera that day!

Largest I've seen measured was 7' - 3", but I've seen some that had to be longer.
