It seems that the difference in urine as far as useful to trapping, comes when the urine is used naturally for marking by that animal.
Mink urine, coon urine, etc hasn't really caught on big with trappers of those furs. I don't know of any big numbers man on say coon or mink, that uses urine much if at all.
Do cats mark territory? Housecats do- but I think its just the toms-because they seem to be the only ones that piss high up on stuff marking it- usually a glandy type odor also.
If you as a canine trapper stopped using urine entirely- how much if any would it matter?

Bob, I don't like the after taste, or the way it makes my breath smell.
Actually I'm one of the guilty parties that only uses urine at post sets and dirtholes. That being said I've caught alot of coon over the years at those post and dirthole sets. Now that is fox urine, I've never used any other type of urine. I believe fox urine will bring in a coyote faster than any coyote urine. A coyote is territorial, but they know they can whoop any fox that may come into their area, so I have always believed they will come into sets with fox urine with less caution. I think the biggest obstacle that most new trappers have is using inferior urine. Buy good fresh meat fed fox urine and you are going to have better results than if you buy (for example) Walmart fox pee, which is probably fox that are fed dog food. It's a good cover scent for deer hunting, but not a good choice for trapping. Urine in my opinion does trigger a territorial response from animals and it will pull them in for a look see. If you new someone was lurking around your place, wouldn't you check out what they were up to? Thats the way I see it anyway.

I think my canine catch would suffer alot. For me, it goes a long way towards making that yote feel safer and more relaxed-like somebodies already been there, so they're more apt to work the set.
For coons, I think they like it as well. I find a lot of chewed stumps and logs that have had urine on them chewed off by coons.

I use it. I like mine with two sugars and a little creamer. But seriously, what do you use? Coyote, Cat, Fox, etc. I have some good coyote pee but I have been thinking about getting some bobcat too. What's your thoughts??
