A Daily Study of God’s Word for Christian Sportsmen September 29, 2007
Bible Study Verse Proverbs 8:1-4 Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way, where the paths meet. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entrance of the doors: “To you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men”. (NKJV)
Thoughts It has been many years since my father took me out to the gun range and instructed me in proper gun handling. When my son was very young, I began teaching him the same things my father taught me; and now I see him teaching his daughter those same safety habits. The good habits and lessons we teach our sons, daughters and grandchildren will stay with them for a lifetime; and someday they will be passing them on to their children and grandchildren. (BFS)
Action Point Spend time everyday with your family studying God’s Word. The wisdom and knowledge found in the Bible will help you through each day, and its words will stay with your children throughout a lifetime. We never forget those things we learn from our parents, and good Bible study habits are so important. Someday you may be able to see your children passing that same wisdom and knowledge onto your grandchildren.
Sportsmen’s Tip of the Day Start teaching your children gun safety and outdoor survival techniques when they are young. Look into the youth programs provided in your area through the NRA or the state’s game and fish. Be involved with your family.
