Bible Study Verse
Proverbs 19:20
Listen to advice and
accept
instruction,
and in the end you will be wise. (NIV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thoughts
In the last couple of seasons, I have
become extremely
passionate about waterfowl hunting. Now,
my garage is not only full of fishing
equipment, but loaded with
decoys as well. As much instruction as I
have given with
regard to fishing over the years; and
although I still
learn something every time I pursue any
species of
fish, I now humbly find myself in a much
different position.
I am, again, the student--anticipating,
learning and
watching; applying newly acquired
knowledge about decoy set up, wind
direction, and the art of
calling ducks and geese. I watch, listen
and learn from all who willingly want to
pass on this heritage to
me. I want to learn and be successful; and
someday pass it on to someone
who will, hopefully, do even more with it
than I.(JC)
Action Point
The outdoors can teach us something
every time we
are willing to step out our door with an
open mind.
We must all be willing to accept instruction
and listen
to advice from those who are more
proficient in the
endeavors we wish to pursue. None of us
are ever too
old to learn something. If we seem to be, it
might be
our pride that has stepped in the way. Try
not
to get in the way of your own learning.
Knowledge in
any form
can always be a key to success.
Our God, Creator of all the
beauty that we enjoy as outdoorsmen, has
instruction for us in learning His
ways. Let's seek Him
above all. " . . . First seek the counsel of
the Lord." 1 Kings 22:5 (NIV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
When first learning to call to ducks, volume
is not as
important as are the cadence and tone of
the calls.
You can learn these from instructional
videos and
even more successfully from an
experienced caller.
