Bible Study Verse
Deuteronomy 6:6-9
"These words,
which I
am
commanding you today, shall be on your
heart. You
shall teach them diligently to your sons and
shall talk
of them when you sit in your house and
when you walk
by the way and when you lie down and
when
you rise
up. You shall bind them as a sign on your
hand and
they shall be as frontals on your
forehead. You shall
write them on the doorposts of your house
and on
your gates. (NASB)

Thoughts
I hear a lot of Christians say that our
society and our
government are becoming increasingly
hostile to
Christians. I also hear that this is a
post-Christian era. I
can't help but wonder, "Whose fault is
that?" I know that Satan is always
attempting to thwart God's
plans; but I don't think he deserves as
much credit as
we want to give him. I think that one of the
main
reasons is US! We have allowed
it.
Much the same thing is being said about
our sporting
heritage. We are frequently told that the
number of
people participating in consumptive
(hunting and
fishing) sports is dwindling. Why is that?
Once again, I think it is US!
We sportmen have allowed it! We are
going to need
to get
involved and teach our children and others
about our
way of life. (DWH)
Action Point
Just as we need to teach our children and
others
around us the Word of God, we need to
teach others about our sporting heritage if
we want it to continue. Just as the Word of
God is a
blessing from God, we must let them know
that our sporting heritage is a blessing
from Him. I believe that we have no one to
blame but
ourselves if we allow this to become a
post-Christian
era or a post-hunting/fishing era. "You
shall
teach
them diligently to your sons." (and
daughters).

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
I frequently have occasion to use rental
cars. Before
turning the car back into the rental agency,
I make it a
habit of tuning the radio to a Christian
station. The Word of God never
returns void.
You never know when someone might hear
the Word
just when they need it the most.
