Bible Study Verse
Ecclesiastes 7:14
When times are
good be happy;
But when times are bad, consider: God
has made the
one as well as the other. Therefore a man
cannot
discover anything about his future. (NIV)

Thoughts
We all have had those days where the fish
seem to be
jumping in the boat, as well as those when
we would have caught
just as many
fish staying home cutting the grass! In the
last several
weeks, I have had one of the best goose
hunts of my
life--the birds practically landed on
top on us. On
the other hand, I have also had a couple of
extremely
frustrating duck hunts where I would have
had a better
shot at them on my couch watching a
segment of
Ducks Unlimited! God has made
one as well as the
other. On the good days, I laughed and
marveled at
my good fortune. On the so called bad
days, I learned
more about the one with whom I hunted;
and we shared
expectations of the future, though we don't
know
what those will be. (JC)
Action Point
No matter what the day brings, nor its
results, you can
always learn from the experience. There is
always
something to be gained. Sometimes you
have to look
for it. The bad or unsuccessful days
are the days God wants you to have for a
reason. You can never fully appreciate the
view from
the top of a mountain without experiencing
the climb
from the valley below.

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day
Waterfowl hunting is a game of
concealment. You
must be hidden from the birds above.
When goose
hunting on a hill, place your blind on the
side rather
than the top of the hill. A properly
camouflaged blind
will blend in more with the side of a hill.
Also, place your
motion decoys away from your position to
draw
attention to them and give you even more
of an
advantage.
