Well what I learned this year to start off with was a repeat from last year. I was taught Patience can be rewarded, with 5 weeks spent in the woods this spring, in the areas we were hunting the birds just didn't gobble very much and that light calling and patiently watting there was a good chance a Turkey would slip in quite to look for the hen that had been talking. Of couse after hunting for almost 4 weeks I blew my opening morning set up in Missouri, I guess I was just tired and with nothing gobbling I was lulled into the "Nothing Was Coming In, 3 hours of setting in the same spot" and as I stood up a gobbler flushed about 75 yards away, he had been coming in silent and was behind a brush pile and I couldn't see him........ But two days later I set up in the same area and scored on a great double bearded bird that only gobbled every 30 minutes or so. So I have to say I was retaught Patience can and will be rewarded.
