Anybody here into Cowboy Shooting? I'm thinking about it. Do you have any advise?

Hardcase,
That's another aspect of shooting sports that is on my "wish list". As far as advice, are you looking to go all out, or just ease in? LOL! If you're wanting to do a relatively high volume of shooting, my suggestion would be to get a replica lever gun, and a revolver of the same caliber (.44-40, .45 LC, etc.) and find a cowboy load that they both like well enough to warrant using. If you're planning on getting really serious, find a nice side-by-side shotgun that hearkens back to the old west, and you should be outfitted for the shooting side of things. I've heard that a lot of those guys use blackpowder loads in their guns, so if you like cleaning guns, that would be the way to go. If you do get into this, I may be picking your brain on the subject later... Good Luck!

Hardcase, Close to us we have SASS and NCOWS. I shoot with NCOWS. You can get by with one revolver and some type of rifle either single shot, lever or pump. You can go for a shot gun if you want to. Guns have to be pre 1897 in style. I shoot 45LC. With SASS you need 2 revolvers, rifle and shot gun. WE shoot every month from March thru Oct on the 3rd Saturday except for Oct when we shoot the 4th. We won't be shooting this month as they are having the national shoot. Oldman
